Google’s Pixel 11 Pro rear HiLight LED has limited built-in notification support. An open-source app called HiLight Studio adds per-app colors, notification patterns, and animation controls.
Google introduced HiLight as a rear LED feature on the Pixel 11 Pro line. Its current system behavior covers a limited set of use cases, including calls, messages, WhatsApp notifications, and status indications related to Gemini. Google has reportedly indicated that additional native functionality may arrive later.
Developer Dhananjay_Tech created HiLight Studio to expose more of the hardware’s capabilities. The free, open-source app can assign colors and effects to individual apps, with options such as pulse, breathe, wave, comet, and rainbow animations. It does not require root access or include ads, although reports say the setup process can be complicated.

“HiLight Studio” is the result, an app that gives users full control of the Pixel 11 Pro’s light to do basically anything.
