Operating in a sandboxed survival world using only standard Mineflayer APIs, code execution, and text chat, the agents autonomously divided roles, recovered teammates' items across 605 deaths, and wrote and debugged 2,783 JavaScript programs to defeat the Ender Dragon. ## Key Takeaways [...] 1. Code-and-Text Sandbox via Standard Mineflayer: Each agent controlled a player solely by writing and executing JavaScript programs against the standard open-source `Mineflayer` library, with zero human-written game logic, role assignments, or pre-scouted seeds; 2. Emergent Division of Labor via Cha

[...] Google DeepMind has achieved another major gaming benchmark, announcing that a team of four autonomous artificial intelligence (AI) agents powered by its new Gemini 4 Argon model successfully completed Minecraft from scratch in just 27 hours. Unlike DeepMind's historic gaming breakthroughs, such as AlphaGo and AlphaStar, which relied on systems custom-trained specifically for a single title, the latest feat was accomplished using general-purpose coding agents – the identical software assistants engineers de
