Enterprise WeChat Opens CLI and MCP, but External User Access Remains Unclear

Several reports say Enterprise WeChat 5.0.10 now exposes CLI and MCP capabilities to major AI agents and custom enterprise agents, without company-size or qualification thresholds. A user test, however, indicates that bots may still be restricted to members of the hosting enterprise.

Multiple reports say Enterprise WeChat upgraded its CLI and MCP capabilities in version 5.0.10 on August 18, 2026. Agents such as WorkBuddy, DeepSeek Harness, and MiniMax Code, along with enterprise-built agents, can reportedly access documents, spreadsheets, email, meetings, calendars, contacts, and other workplace functions.

The reported “broad opening” appears to concern eligibility for enterprises to connect to the platform. It does not necessarily mean that a bot can serve arbitrary people outside the enterprise. In a user test, a newly created bot could reportedly be used only by members of the same enterprise, while external users were unable to access it.

The cautious conclusion is that Enterprise WeChat has expanded enterprise-level agent integration, but the audience available to bots may remain restricted or require additional configuration. The exact boundary should be confirmed against official documentation and current product settings.
