Z.ai Introduces GLM-5.3 for Coding and Cyber Defense
Z.ai has announced GLM-5.3, a model focused on coding, agentic workflows, and cybersecurity. It is built through post-training on a 743-billion-parameter base model and is currently available via the GLM Coding Plan and ZCode, with API access and open weights planned in stages.
Z.ai has introduced GLM-5.3 as a new model for demanding software-development and agentic tasks. The company says the system was produced by applying extensive post-training to a 743-billion-parameter base model, with an emphasis on code generation, tool use, and long-running task execution.
The release also highlights cybersecurity capabilities, including vulnerability discovery, exploit reasoning, and timed security challenges. Z.ai describes the results as a major advance among open models, but those performance claims are currently vendor statements and warrant confirmation through independent testing.
GLM-5.3 is available now through the GLM Coding Plan and ZCode. Z.ai says API access and open weights will be released in stages after additional safety evaluations.
