Egyptian Traffic Is Rising, but Orders Are Missing: Stripe Availability May Be the Bottleneck

An entrepreneur reports a sharp increase in organic traffic from Egypt but no completed orders, suspecting that Stripe does not directly support Egyptian merchants. The available evidence indicates a possible regional-availability issue, but does not prove that every payment route is unavailable.

An overseas-focused entrepreneur says organic traffic from Egypt has grown substantially while completed orders remain at zero. After investigating, the entrepreneur attributed the problem to Stripe not supporting merchant onboarding or payments directly from Egypt. The case illustrates that rising traffic does not guarantee conversions when merchant eligibility, settlement, or local payment options are unresolved.

Stripe’s global-availability material does not explicitly show Egypt in the supplied excerpts. The safer conclusion is that Egyptian businesses may not be eligible for a standard Stripe account, but the current country list, onboarding rules, and supported payment flows should be checked directly. Eligibility may also depend on the company’s place of incorporation, bank-account location, and any alternative payment provider used.

The claim that Egypt is “a country without dollars” is incorrect. Egypt’s domestic currency is the Egyptian pound, while US dollars are still used in foreign-exchange, trade, and tourism contexts. Any Stripe limitation is primarily a matter of service availability, compliance, and settlement policy—not proof that the country lacks US dollars.
