Computer History turns your activity across apps and websites into memories and a timeline that ChatGPT and Codex can reference. You can ask natural questions about recent work, pick up where you left off, understand patterns in how you work, and turn repeated workflows into skills or automations. Your history starts only after you choose to turn it on. You control which apps and websites contribute, can see and pause collection from the macOS menu bar, and can inspect or delete your history at any time. [...] ## Privacy and local storage Computer History stores the interaction-event stream temporarily on your Mac so ChatGPT and Codex can generate memories and build suggested workflows. The stream can include activity such as clicks and typing, along with text and other context available through macOS accessibility features. Computer History does not include screenshots in your history or record microphone input or system audio. Private-mode web browsing activity is never included.

Today we launched Computer History in the ChatGPT desktop app! 🧠 One of the biggest changes to how I work with Codex has been not having to explain all the context every single time. Now I can just ask: 📄 “What was the last Google Doc I was looking at?” 💬 “Can you share it with the group DM from earlier?” 🛠️ “Create a skill based on what I just did.” Computer History helps ChatGPT and Codex understand how you work across apps and websites, so they can pick up where you left off and even suggest skills and automations. It’s opt-in, doesn’t rely on screen or audio captures, and lets you control which apps and websites are included. 1.

You can now just show ChatGPT and Codex how you work using Computer History so you can talk more naturally with your agent. Once you turn on Computer History in the settings of your desktop app on macOS, it takes what you're already doing on your desktop and turns it into memories and a timeline that your agent can reference the next time you ask a question or start a task. Let me show you an example. Hey, what was the last Google Doc I was looking at? Okay, I'll check your recent activity to that doc. I'm checking the recent activity history to identify the last Google Doc. The last Google Doc you were editing was VideoScript Computer History earlier today. Codex can leverage the Computer History to know exactly which doc I was looking at. Can you make sure the doc was shared with Josh [...] entirely, or reveal the actual memory files. Memories continue to be on your file system so you can see exactly what has been captured and remembered by the agent. Computer History will also sugge

问「简单说说我今天上午时间花在哪了」：它用本地活动历史生成回顾：上午主要在推进这条发布视频（写初稿、打磨脚本、和同事改结构节奏），另外在 Codex 里做了个 3D 世界搭建器的原型，还处理了一些用量上限的反馈" @xiaohu ## Log in or sign up for X See what’s happening and join the conversation ## Relevant people Avatar ## Trending now @xiaohu @DECENEJ @LeoSun0223 @TheAI0bserver @TheAI0bserver
